Overall Role

The position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Client Service team and general business development with the Investment Counsel team, offering competitive salary with benefits package.

Job Description

ACTIVITY A: Client Service (75%)

  • Assist with account opening process (act as point of contact for new clients as appropriate)
  • Prepare investment proposals
  • Support securities transfers
  • Conduct client online access tutorials
  • Help with client requests, including electronic fund transfers, statements, address updates
  • Assist with client service initiatives and prospecting events
  • Maintain good client relationships through a regular contact program
  • Support overall financial planning process
  • Support ongoing account review process
  • Special projects as assigned by investment or operations team

ACTIVITY B: Business Development (25%)

  • Maintain a working sales initiative and contribute to business development team
  • Work with Portfolio Managers and Investment Counsellors to develop new business
  • Develop existing prospect leads via outbound warm calling
  • Develop and manage prospecting efforts for the investment and executive team
  • Work with Investment Counsellors (IC) to close new business
  • Develop referrals within existing network
  • Present investment proposals with PM/IC team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Completed Canadian Securities Course
  • Strong interest in obtaining CIM or CFP designation
  • Experience in client services or administration in Wealth Management is an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team
  • High emphasis on ethics and integrity
  • Attention to detail and pride in providing quality service
